Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the 267th Pope.
Born on September 14, 1955, in Chicago to a French father and Italian mother. He joined the Augustinian Order in 1981 and was ordained a priest in 1982. He studied mathematics, philosophy, and theology in the U.S. and Rome. From 2001 to 2013, he served as Superior General of the Augustinians. He later became Bishop of Chiclayo, Peru, and held several key roles in the Vatican. Made a cardinal in 2023 and Cardinal Bishop of Albano in 2025. On May 8, 2025, he was elected pope and chose the name Leo XIV.
